Quebec
City
Vocal and Dance Festival
Quebec City, Capital of the Province of Quebec, is also
known as "Europe at Your Doorstep"! What a better
place to host this special event. Not only will the groups
experience the beauty of this extraordinary destination
but all will benefit of the cultural and linguistic experience
of being in a city which is 90% French! This special event
was created by popular demand. The very essence of the
program itself is the sharing of music through participation,
cooperation and exchange. The educational value of the
master classes and clinics by some of the best people
in the field coupled with the travel experience of being
exposed to the Quebecois culture and being around other
ensembles makes this event one not to be missed.
The Concept...
All groups are to arrive either on Friday or Saturday.
On Friday night we will have a dinner for all the groups
and they will be presented to one another. An evening
activity is planned for all the groups. There will be
a meeting with the director's of every school and the
Rhythms International Head Adjudicator for the weekend
to go over the last minute details.
On Saturday the groups will go to the various venues
for the clinics master classes in the morning. Free time
will be scheduled for lunch. The afternoon will be dedicated
to performances and joint performances between the various
groups and local ensembles. The evening will include dinner
and another activity.
Sunday is the festival adjudication day with one hour
of warm-up and one hour on stage in front of our three
judges who will then conduct a final clinic with your
ensemble. Every performing ensemble will receive a Rhythms
International Awards Plaque. The closing event is the
semi-formal awards dinner and dance with live entertainment.
